Start-Up Businesses

Are you thinking of starting a business?

Sole proprietors and small businesses often have trouble identifying many of the common legal issues and they fail to protect themselves. At Eiss-Proctor Law, PLLC we can help entrepreneurs think about and plan for potential problems they may face in the future.

Do you have questions about what you need to do just before or after you have created a business?

We offer a free consultation for anyone thinking about or currently working with a start-up business.  During the consultation we will help you pinpoint particular areas you might want to think about such as what kind of business entity you need to form (LLC, Partnership, Corporation, Sole Proprietorship), how you can protect yourself when dealing with vendors, employees, and independent contractors, and how to negotiate favorable lease terms.

Small Business Needs

Have you been running into legal questions as your small business grows?

We have experience working with small businesses, providing them with creative ideas about how to protect the business as it grows.  Small businesses have special needs because often owners wear many hats.  At Eiss-Proctor Law, PLLC we work with small business owners and discuss various ways to handle legal issues such as employment contracts, copyright infringement issues, and working with independent contractors.  If you need advice about a legal issue your small business is facing, please contact me for a free consultation.

Grassroots Non-Profits

Starting a non-profit is a daunting task.  There can be a lot of red tape and hassle trying to figure out how to approach getting a 501(c)3 status, filing the necessary paperwork to fundraise in various states, and managing other issues like board member confidentiality agreements and employee and volunteer contracts.  I provide a free consultation for any grassroots non-profit organization.  We seek to help the organization’s creator(s) pinpoint potential legal pitfalls and protect themselves as best as possible.
